From a Newfoundland fishing community to Alberta's trades, real estate leadership, public relations, and digital strategy, each chapter gave Krista a new way of understanding complex decisions.

The beginning
Krista was born and raised in Grand Bank, once one of Newfoundland's largest fishing communities. She graduated from high school around the time of the cod moratorium and watched a community that had thrived for generations face devastating change almost overnight.
It was her first real lesson in how quickly circumstances can shift, and how much the decisions made afterward matter.
A path shaped by different industries, places, and kinds of responsibility.
Newfoundland to Alberta
After beginning business studies at Memorial University, Krista headed west and entered the trades. She became a Red Seal Steamfitter/Pipefitter and First Class Gasfitter, with additional experience in welding. The work taught her how to navigate complex systems, solve practical problems, and assess risk.
Real estate since 2012
Krista earned her broker licence, took over a brokerage, and owned and operated a Century 21 franchise for approximately ten years. Through helping people buy, sell, and invest, she gained firsthand experience in contracts, negotiation, leadership, and consumer decision-making.
Communication changed the view
Krista returned to university and completed a Bachelor of Public Relations at Mount Saint Vincent University, graduating with distinction. Her studies deepened her understanding of how information is presented, interpreted, and used to make important decisions.
The connected work
Krista formed Cloak & Dagger Media while completing her public relations degree. She is continuing her education through graduate studies in Digital Marketing while remaining active in real estate as a Managing Associate Broker.
How Decision Authority came together
Each time, the question remained: What do I do next?
Decision Authority grew from that question. It brings together Krista's experience in business, communication, risk, systems, and change, and turns it into practical guidance for decisions that rarely come with easy answers.
